This is an experimental book based on the interpretations of Walter Benjamin’s piece, “Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction”. In the book, I take a lot of his discussed topics, such as time and space, and incorporate them throughout the pages. Considering my concept focuses on the idea of perception and how different the world is viewed by each person, the book is divided into two books which have the ability to close into one or be read along side each other. I decided to combine both photography and illustrations to portray different art styles and to represent the idea of diversity. The goal was to make it so that no matter what page the reader turns to, the ideas and designs still make sense, therefore, demonstrating how complicated elements can work together as one in harmony. Below are some photos of the final product.
